I chose to become a physician because I wanted to address healthcare disparities, particularly conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, that affect countless individuals in my local and national community. My approach to patient care is grounded in three principles: transparent communication, interprofessional teamwork, and scholarship. At the core of my practice is the patient-physician relationship, which I view as a partnership that empowers patients to make informed decisions about their health. I strive to create an environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, expressing concerns, and sharing their values and goals so that we can develop a care plan that best fits their individual needs and culture. As healthcare becomes increasingly complex, I believe collaboration across disciplines is essential to providing comprehensive care. I am also committed to lifelong learning and using evidence-based practices to continually improve patient outcomes. My goal is to provide care that is collaborative, individualized, and grounded in the best available evidence. My clinical interests include HIV care, prenatal care, adolescent health, and adult health maintenance. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy mentoring, visiting museums, gardening, lifting weights, listening to poetry and spoken word performances, and trying new restaurants.
